Culture matters more than technology
As an event professional I've always been frustrated with the orthodoxy that suggests events and meetings should be typical and boring. That they need to be done the way they've always been done.
It is particularly frustrating and stupid when this logic is applied to online meetings. No surprise that after many months of this nonsense, zoom fatigue and a general exhaustion of virtual meetings is becoming a pandemic unto itself.
All jokes aside it doesn't need to be this way. Regardless of how long the pandemic lasts, meeting and collaborating using the internet are increasing, have tremendous value, and are not something that most organizations and people do effectively.
I've been thinking about why, and rather than write it out, I decided to make a video.
