The consequence of believing in the myth that data (or AI) is neutral, is that it discourages people from asking what agenda that data serves, or what biases it may have.
Facebook has a meta problem. They lack the critical distance and proper governance to understand their power or their problems. The problem with their problems is not just that they fail to appreciate them, but that they are arguably not in a position to understand them at all.

Digital technology has not only transformed our relationship with privacy, it also changes our understanding of the concept as a whole. Our definition of privacy is being eroded, there’s reason to believe that our privacy is actually being renewed, and strengthened.
The combination of open source technology and legacy technology makes it possible to setup networks that are affordable and offer quality that is good enough for the needs of users who otherwise might have nothing.
