Texas continues to attack Ontario and the North East
There's something about the weather that fascinates me. I'm always looking at the weather page my buddy Ken Chase has setup, and I'm often outside observing conditions and comparing what I see and experience with the online forecasts.
This winter has been an onslaught here in Toronto and across much of the north east. The volume of snow is way above average, and way beyond the last few years which have been well below average. So the psychological effect on the city (and region) has been pronounced.
Today Environment Canada issued another winter storm warning, and it began with a phrase that I've seen a lot this season:
It seems that most of the massive storms which have come to blanket us with all this snow have originated in Texas. This season the lone star state continues to send the worst that winter can muster to beat down the Canucks and Yankees up to the north and east.
What's behind this conspiracy you ask? Weapons to manipulate the weather maybe? An attempt to influence the outcome of the historic presidential election? A campaign by anti-environmental forces to disprove global warming?
Of course it's just the jet stream, and the way the weather has worked out this season. However I can't help but animate and project meaning onto the weather so as to derive some fun from all this crazy snow. And thus I must speak up and say, hey, fellow residents of the North East, enough is enough, let's tell Texas to stop sending us so many snow storms! ;)
